Behind the wall: The simplest, yet not easiest way to experience bliss
Freedom comes when we stop seeking it
Life's current is a never-ending river, flowing and expanding in a continuous rhythm.
As we focus on planning and building our dreams and wishes, we mostly remain ignorant of ourselves being part of it, and thus submitted to the same laws. Predominantly, the law of change.
Because of our intelligence, our ability to think, analyse, assess, taking decisions and performing controlled actions, we’re free to craft and navigate through our own jail; Mostly experiencing disappointment and discomfort.
But we’re not doomed! We’re free!
Because the height of the walls is determined by the level of resistance we maintain towards what we encounter.
“The world was peopled with minds, whirling faster than any wind, in search of distraction and escape from the predicament of change, the dilemma of life and death — seeking purpose, security, enjoyment, trying to make sense of the mystery. Everyone everywhere lived a confused, bitter search. Reality never matched their dreams; happiness was just around the corner — a corner they never turned.
And the source of it all was the human mind.” — Way of the peaceful warrior by Dan Millman - Page 42
While we work and strive for security and fulfillment, our journey often leads us down unexpected, dead-end roads instead of the desired destination.
We then often feel miserable and discontented. After all, we worked and did so much for what we wanted to achieve, only to end up somewhere or somewhat else.
Our field of view is narrowing down to what we dislike.
The sooner we can let go of the longing for what we originally expected, the sooner we will recognize the new possibilities and paths that arise from what we got.
Bliss is not attained by constantly meeting expectations, but by surrendering to the current of life.
